[SPEAKER_02]: in the Washington area this weekend, first time in a couple of years, so we're going to talk to you about why we got together and the fact that we, you know, some of the things that happened.

[SPEAKER_06]: We hung out, we'd went places when I was so disappointed.

[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_06]: We did.

[SPEAKER_02]: all right let's move on we got so much to do we do we have a guest on today's show um you know i was looking around on social media and you know different places uh i wanted to find someone uh who has done some entertainment reporting because we talk about a lot of entertainment stuff i thought we should get someone who knows uh what they're talking about and uh [SPEAKER_02]: and you know has some youthful appeal. [SPEAKER_02]: So we are going to be joined by Teiana Lee. [SPEAKER_02]: She was formerly with entertainment tonight with E News with BET. [SPEAKER_02]: She's great. [SPEAKER_02]: I've talked to her a couple of times so she's going to join us on the show. [SPEAKER_06]: Hi, thank you. [SPEAKER_06]: that's great. [SPEAKER_06]: I think probably her least favorite way to describe her is youthful appeal. [SPEAKER_06]: But it's nice that you did that because I know it's one of your ways to describe people. [SPEAKER_06]: And everybody you book on the show, why are the women always so beautiful? [SPEAKER_06]: I've already seen Tiana and she's gorgeous and I think is, I mean, do her credentials matter at all, Tony? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, her credentials matter. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not just about beauty. [SPEAKER_03]: otherwise you would not be on the show. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: First thing I want to do is thank you Rob. [SPEAKER_02]: I want to do. [SPEAKER_02]: Those of you who tuned into our last episode on YouTube, if you tuned in during the first couple of days, I want to apologize to you because the mic levels, [SPEAKER_02]: ourselves until it posted. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a technical glitch. [SPEAKER_02]: It has been our crack team got right on it. [SPEAKER_06]: It has and they are a crack team. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and actually that was part of the problem. [SPEAKER_02]: They were on crack. [SPEAKER_02]: They were on crack. [SPEAKER_02]: They were in accordance. [SPEAKER_02]: Some of you may have turned it off. [SPEAKER_02]: it was hard for Gary and I to watch, so it is back, it's fixed, and the audio version was fine if you're just listening to the show. [SPEAKER_02]: So, and you know, we'll make sure that doesn't happen again. [SPEAKER_06]: Do you know that when you said that you were interested in doing some kind of an apology? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_06]: Early? [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_06]: I thought you were, I thought you were apologizing for not being funny enough on the last show. [SPEAKER_06]: I thought that's what it was. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought I was plenty fun. [SPEAKER_06]: You were very funny. [SPEAKER_06]: You were very funny. [SPEAKER_06]: I just couldn't imagine what we were apologizing for. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm never going to apologize. [SPEAKER_02]: As long as I've tried my best, you know, that's one thing you learn when you're a stand-up comedian. [SPEAKER_02]: And the old joke is, well, they're not all gonna be gems folks. [SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, you have your ups, your downs and, you know, some nights are fantastic. [SPEAKER_06]: Other nights are a little rougher, but, you know, you don't have the guts to be a stand-up comic and you know that. [SPEAKER_06]: We talked about that many times. [SPEAKER_06]: You did it. [SPEAKER_06]: I wrote for comics, but I was always amazed that these people could hit it one day, fail the next and want to go back. [SPEAKER_06]: And I couldn't. [SPEAKER_06]: And I admire you so much for doing it. [SPEAKER_02]: Did it for nine years, yeah, and traveled all over the country, opened for, you know, big acts, a Reeth of Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Sheila E, all kinds of acts, and, you know, it's kind of surprising to me that I did it because I was very shy when I was a kid. [SPEAKER_02]: I worked my way out of that in high school with the help of a public speaking teacher. [SPEAKER_02]: But to go on stage and in [SPEAKER_02]: That is not something you would have guessed that I would do when I was a very young person. [SPEAKER_06]: No, and you might have guessed that I would have, but I would not have but I didn't know you yet and if I did know you I would have come to your and also I got to say until a couple of weeks ago I never knew that you opened for that level of comic or singer or whoever you were opening for big people [SPEAKER_02]: Well, so, in fact, I opened for do you remember, do you know Robert Townsend is of course? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably with shuffle and kinds of things. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: In God's wind? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Go on with the wind, no. [SPEAKER_02]: In Washington, because people knew me from radio and local TV, I opened at the Warner Theatre for Robert Townsend. [SPEAKER_02]: I opened for Sinbad on one occasion, Tommy Davidson at Lysner Auditorium, a Reath of Franklin at Wolftrap, Smokey Robinson at Wolftrap, Sheila E at a club in Richmond, you know, it was kind of cool. [SPEAKER_06]: You know what? [SPEAKER_06]: You were big. [SPEAKER_06]: It's the pictures that got small. [SPEAKER_06]: That's a little bit sensible of art. [SPEAKER_06]: So right there you go. [SPEAKER_06]: Rock, rob, new, rob, new. [SPEAKER_03]: Trust me, rob, new. [SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't going to come to your rescue, though. [SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to see dead people. [SPEAKER_02]: If you're a fan of the Michael Marishow, you know, they've talked about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Rob certainly has talked about it on his social media. [SPEAKER_02]: Rob unfortunately lost his father. [SPEAKER_02]: Bob Spiewak, how many months ago now? [SPEAKER_02]: How long ago was it? [SPEAKER_04]: It was February 27th. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to do this. [SPEAKER_04]: This was the first possible booking week. [SPEAKER_04]: We wanted, we honestly wanted to take some time and just let everything sort of settle before we did everything. [SPEAKER_02]: And so Rob did a celebration of life as people do now, which I think is great. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we have a funeral, but have a celebration of life because then it is remembering all the good stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: It's much more upb
